Report guide

What a Sherlock Search report helps you see

A useful result needs more than a thumbnail. The report keeps possible matches, confidence, and source context together.

Follow the source

Open the public page and inspect its account, date, caption, and surrounding context.

Read confidence

Match confidence guide

Use the score as a lead and verify every source.

85–100%Strong Match
50–84%Likely Match
0–49%Unlikely Match

Check photo quality

A clear, front-facing image with one unobstructed face gives the comparison more stable detail to work with.

How it works

From one photo to a source-linked report

Sherlock Search separates photo preparation, payment, and the real comparison so every step is easy to understand.

  1. 01

    Upload

    Choose one clear photo

Select, drop, paste, or take a photo with one visible face. You can review it before moving forward.

  2. 02

    Unlock

    Select a one-time search pack

Complete secure Stripe Checkout after the readiness check. There is no account or recurring subscription.

  3. 03

    Review

    Open possible source matches

Run the real comparison with one credit, then inspect confidence labels and the public page behind each result.

Start with a question

Three responsible ways to use Sherlock Search

PROFILE CHECK

Look beyond a profile name

A copied photo can appear beside a different name or biography. Compare public appearances before deciding whether an online identity is consistent.

PHOTO REUSE

Investigate possible impersonation

Trace where a face may have been reposted, then inspect dates, captions, usernames, and the earliest accessible source before reporting it.

SELF-AUDIT

Check your own public footprint

Search a photo you own to find possible public copies, forgotten profiles, or pages you may want to review or remove.

Questions, answered

Before you run a Sherlock Search

Know what the service does, where payment occurs, and how to interpret possible matches responsibly.

01What does Sherlock Search do?+

It submits one face photo to a reverse-image search provider and returns possible visual matches connected to public web pages. The results are leads for review, not proof of legal identity.

02Do I need to create an account?+

No. Choose a photo, complete the one-time Stripe checkout, and return to a private guest wallet. Stripe collects an email for your receipt and recovery link.

03When does the real search begin?+

The first photo starts a short readiness sequence. The full provider comparison begins only after payment is verified and you confirm the final photo you want searched.

04What happens if I already have credits?+

This browser remembers your private purchase reference and asks the server to verify the remaining balance. If credits remain, you can use them without buying again.

05What if no useful matches appear?+

A completed zero-match search means the comparison ran but did not return useful candidates. It does not prove the face is absent online because some pages may be private, unindexed, removed, or visually different.

06How long is search media retained?+

Search media is retained for up to 24 hours. Keep the emailed recovery link until you have finished reviewing your private report.

07Can a similarity score confirm identity?+

No. Always open the source and compare names, dates, captions, locations, and independent evidence before reaching a conclusion.

Start with one clear photo

Review your image first, unlock the comparison with a one-time payment, and keep every possible match private to your report.
